The Cuisinart CPT-122 is Amazon's #1 best-selling toaster, and at $30, it's easy to see why. Two extra-wide self-centering slots handle everything from thin sandwich bread to thick bagels. Six browning levels let you dial in your preference, and dedicated Bagel, Defrost, and Reheat buttons work surprisingly well for a budget appliance.
The plastic body is unremarkable but functional. The 3-year warranty is exceptional at this price point - Cuisinart clearly stands behind it. Toasts evenly, doesn't burn one side, and the self-centering mechanism prevents jams.
Limitations: two slots means you're toasting in batches for a family. No countdown or progress indicator. But at $30, these are reasonable tradeoffs. If you want a reliable, simple toaster that just works, buy this one. If you want four slots or premium features, spend up.
