Our Review
The KitchenAid Classic Plus is the Artisan's more affordable sibling. Same iconic tilt-head design, same 10 speeds, same hub for attachments - but a slightly smaller 4.5-quart bowl and a 275W motor (vs 325W).
For cookies, cakes, whipped cream, and light doughs, the difference is imperceptible. Where you'll notice: bread dough over 3 cups of flour can strain the motor, and the smaller bowl limits batch sizes. The Classic Plus comes in fewer colors and with fewer included accessories.
At $300, it's $150 less than the Artisan. If you bake occasionally, make cookies and cakes, or want the KitchenAid ecosystem at a lower entry price, the Classic Plus makes more sense than the Artisan. Serious bakers should save for the Artisan or Professional 600.
